Making Faces: Kelly Rowland in Tangerine

March 13, 2012 § 7 Comments

Ohhhh Kelly... How I love your face.

Kelly, Kelly, Kelly…who are you?  You, this gorgeous creature with flawless makeup and unbelievable skin.  I’ve been completely obsessed with her makeup ever since I saw this look.  The warm tangerine cheek, the super-subtle lip, the dewey skin… sigh.  Understated glam at it’s best.  I love everything that’s happening here.  Naturally, I had to re-create this look.   Oranges/peaches/corals are perfectly on trend right now in makeup and fashion, and lucky for us, these warm, sunny shades are absolutely stunning on all shades of brown skin.  So, play around with it and have some fun! 🙂

The cheek was the main focus for me in achieving this look.  If you are like me and have more copper undertones, use a blush that is a true orange, leaning toward the red side, and a golden-orange shade as your highlight.  If you have more golden undertones (NC40+), try a golden-orange blush like Fabulush Cream Color Base or NARS Taj Mahal as your main cheek colour, and a gold highlight instead.

Pics & products after the….. jump!

Here’s what I used (all products are MAC unless otherwise stated):

Face & Body foundation – N9
MUFE HD Invisible Cover Concealer 370
Mineralize Skin Finish Natural – Deep Dark

Painterly Paint Pot – base
Off The Page eye shadow – lid colour
NARS Taj Mahal blush – outer corner
Amber Lights – inner corner
MUFE No.18 eye shadow – crease
Make Your Mark Pro Longwear eye shadow – crease
Antiqued eye shadow – crease
Feline eye kohl – upper & lower lashline
#7 lashes
Stud brow pencil

MUFE No.18 eye shadow (I used A LOT. This shadow looks brighter in the pan than on the skin, so don’t be shy; pack it on until it looks good!)
Off the Page eye shadow – highlight

MUFE Lab Shine Lip Gloss D20 (I’d originally used NARS Wonder lip gloss, but on my natural lip, it was too red for this look)
Purring Tendertone overtop
